Andy Payne, Foyil, OK, won the Bunion Derby back in 1927. It called for participants to run from Los Angeles to New York - via Route 66 from L.A. to Chicago. Andy won it in 71 days. Foyil has erected a monument to Andy. As well they should! John Froman works at the Coleman Theater in Miami. And don't get him started about that beautifully restored 20's movie palace. He said he is "49/64ths" Arapaho Indian. Just shy of the 50% necessary to live on a reservation. John attributes his success to that circumstance.

Bob lives because Route 66 lives. Escounced on the longest segment of original Route 66 still navigatable (162 miles), Bob manages a living from his Bio-Regional Center and original Route 66 creations. After a "season in a far country," Linda McCloud returns to her roots in Afton, OK and opens the Route 66 Cafe. Its right on the west side of the highway in a historic rock building.
