Cycle World Motorcycle ShowDallas, Texas - December 15-17, 2000 |
If you came on two wheels, the parking was free. |
Larry Huffman is the voice of the show.
Ably assisted by people not nearly as ugly.
The Victor McLaglen Motor Corps made their magic on a polished concrete floor that
looked slick as glass.
The 'majors' were all there . . .
. . . and yellow the new color for 2001.
Harley continues to make the new look old with a front fork treatment borrowed
from the now defunct Excelsior-Henderson that many of their dealers carried.
Red forever, at Kawasaki and elsewhere.
BMW's engine is different enough to justify a working cutaway.
The Road Star showed manageable mass.
But the beautifully impractical customs set the shutters clicking . . .
. . . again . . .
. . . and again . . .
. . . and again.
Dallas . . . and Texas . . . would seem to be a good enough 'bike' area to merit a REALLY serious show like this, but Cycle World has only come to Dallas for two years running. This being the second. The ticket buying lines were long enough that we hope we can look forward to them being here every year. |
