Title Frame from Video 2001 saw a record number of people registering for the 7th Annual, "all brands invited" tour of Historic Route 66 - America's most famous highway. This video takes you along! Bikes arrive at the Big Texan steak house in Amarillo, Texas Watch one rider - Sam Borland - tangle with the free 72 ounce steak. If he eats it all in less than an hour, it is free. Chain of Rocks Bridge - Mitchell,  Illinois For the first time in 7 years, we get to the Chain of Rocks bridge before it closes for the day and get to walk over the historic Route 66 connection between Illinois and Missouri.
Juan Delgadillo - SnoCap Drive In, Seligman Arizona We capture Juan Delgadillo doing his thing at the Sno Cap Drive Inn in Seligman, Arizona. He's got a customer service system a full solar system away from the golden arches. Lee Hurley from New Zealand Lee Hurley - from New Zealand - who brought 6 Kiwi's to the Rally, explains how he talked his way out of a radar reading of 93 miles per hour in a 65 zone(!). Midpoint Cafe, Adrian, Texas Halfway between Chicago and Los Angeles, (in Adrian, Texas) we stop for a slice of home made banna cream pie. Just 1,139 miles to go!
Route 66 Museum, Clinton, Oklahoma Our 5AM(!) departure from the Tradewinds Motel in Clinton, OK (where Elvis slept) takes us past the Route 66 Museum. Rainbow Bridge.  Riverton, Kansas The Rainbow Bridge, just west of Riverton, Kansas, carried Route 66 traffic from 1926 to 1960. It still served our riders. Sandia Crest Highway, Albuquerque, New Mexico The Sandia Crest Highway, just east of Albuquerque, New Mexico, swept us up fabulous twisties to 10,678 feet. A great break from desert heat.
End of the road group picture - Santa Monica, CA The riders still showed a lot of pep at the end of the road. it may have been the Starbuck's coffee Charlotte Graham and Michele Evans (Pat Evan's wife) set up for the EARLY morning arrival. Tin Butt Award, Santa Monica The "Tin Butt Award" went to the Kiwi's and wrapped up a demanding but fun tour of America's most famous highway. Many riders plan to come back next year, thus earning the coveted Repeat Offender pin and status. This video is NTSC format, no PAL version is available. Running time: 43 minutes
