Not So Lonely Outposts

Hackberry, Arizona anchors the west end of the longest
stretch of "original" Route 66 still in existance. Stretching
from Seligman, Arizona north through Peach Springs, Grand Canyon
Caverns, Hackberry and then to Kingman, Arizona, this
loop (lopped off when I-40 took a more direct route) presents the rider
with several hours of dignified desolation.
Bob Waldmire's Visitor's Center & Bio Regional development is one of the
most interesting stops. Whether Bob is home or not, visitors are welcome to
stop, leave a note, relax for a time.
