Route 66 at it's Narrowest

Ribbon Road (23k)

Hard to imagine vehicles passing each other on a road as narrow as one Gold Wing motorcycle.

Yet this ribbon road was state of the art in the 1920's. After all it was paved. A rare treat in Route 66's early days. Miami, Oklahoma has several miles of ribbon road still open, but, as you can see the road bed is in very poor repair and it remains very narrow.
