St. Louis has done so much to make their river front
attractive and interesting, it is difficult to push the
"original" route 66. It passed to the north and west
of the city and that would mean you would never see the
Arch or the re-developed river front.
To see the Arch - and perhaps spend some time at the
river front, continue on I-55 to its join with I-44. Then
head west. Take the first exit you come to after crossing
the river and wend your way to the river front.
